Netflix/iHeart expand podcast partnership with celebrity soaked shows

Star-driven iHeartMedia podcasts are at the center of the company’s existing partnership with Netflix as the two companies expand the repertoire of their alliance. Calling it a “next phase” f an exclusive video podcast partnership, the announcement reveal a new collection of iHeart podcasts hosted by luminaries Kate Hudson, Lele Pons, Martha Stewart, and others.  The agreement includes all new episodes from the podcast lineup, as well as select library episodes from each show.

In addition to these new video podcasts, Netflix and iHeartMedia recently launched “The Breakfast Club” as a live video show airing simultaneously each weekday.

As this partnership plays on broadcast radio, traditional ot breaks will be heard. However, Netflix listeners will hear those breaks filled with custom original content such as bonus segments  and behind-the-scenes moments.

The partnership launch is in “coming month” phase. We are told that iHeartMedia retains all audio-only rights and distribution for included shows. All the shows will continue to play on existing channel — iHeartRadio and podcast apps.
