In the latest Weekly Insight from Edison Research, we are unsurprised to see Joe Rogan as top of the top — the Top 50 Podcasts in the U.S. quarterly report. The recently released list represents Q4 2025, and ranks shows based on weekly audience size.

We also learn the answer to an interesting question: When do the top 50 podcasts release their episodes? There are two answers:

Weekends, not weekdays
Specifically, Mondays

This info is derived from Apple Podcasts, which is presumed to represent general publishing tendencies.

Creating a dedicated and engaged podcast audience is dependent on a variety of different factors, one being when episodes are released, Edison asserts.

The second most popular drop day is Thursday.
