Libsyn integrates with new YouTube publishing features, enhancing podcaster control

Leading podcast hosting company Libsyn is announcing an integration with YouTube’s recently announced podcast API (Application Programming Interface) features. YouTube launched these features at the Podcast Show in London last week, making Libsyn an early adopter and activator on behalf of its podcast clients.

The new tools allow podcasters to quickly and directly create podcast playlists on YouTube, widen their publishing to include YouTube Music, and change or alter graphics. Below are the key features as listed by Libsyn:

As part of its public announcement, Libsyn appeals directly to podcasters who might doubt the value of multi-faceted YouTube distribution:

“If you think the YouTube platform doesn’t apply to your audio-only podcast because you doubt anyone would watch a video with a still image or if you believe your audience doesn’t use YouTube, think again.”

That’s fairly stern. Libsyn emphasizes that the integration is really about reaching new listeners and being present where existing listeners engage. Driving the point deeper, Libsyn quotes a recent Forbes Magazine article charting the increasing use of YouTube by consumers over three years. “YouTube has pulled away from the pack and leads as the most used podcast platform in the U.S.,” Forbes asserts.

Following the factual announcement, Libsyn provides a tutorial in connecting things up. See everything HERE.
