Kindle Unlimited rebrands, integrates ebooks and audiobooks, intros remote

Amazon’s paid monthly ebook subscription service, Kindle Unlimited, has rebranded as Kindle+ and erased the usage division between ebooks and audiobooks.

For subscribers this means free toggling between reading an ebook and listening to the audiobook. Users continue with the plan’s basic valued: Monthly cost of $11.99 which buys borrowing privilege up to 20 titles per month (in the U.S.), with seamless access across e-readers and the Kindle app.

It’s worth noting a recent modernization of the physical Kindle experience. The edge bevels have been removed to make way for edge-to-edge display, across all new Kindle models. The base six-inch Kindle model, which retails for 50 bucks, has performance  improvements under the hood: faster to open books, a new “edge-to-edge” display, and a relocated power button to reduce accidental turn-offs while reading.

Importantly, Amazon is also introducing an important usability feature: The Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote-control page turner. It works on all Kindles released in 2024 and later. Go HERE for the full description.
