$20M lawsuit pits true crime podcast against its true crime network

Podcast production house Audiochuck, which was founded by Ashley Flowers, is being sued by the Anatomy of Murder podcast, in a case of a client bringing a lawsuit against its service provider.

The allegation is that Audiochuck failed to pay the podcast a fair share of revenue after Audiochuck entered a distribution deal with SiriusXM. According to one source, the monthly revenue paid to the podcast dropped from $73,000 to $25,000. (Those numbers are unverified by us at this time.)

An Audiochuck spokesperson said: “We vigorously refute the claims made by the plaintiffs in the filing. We will defend ourselves in court.

Another source puts the complaint cites “millions of dollars” owed to Anatomy of Murder.

The plaintiffs cite “decreased revenue and restrictions on other forms of monetization.”

There is also language about an “implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing,” which appears to be about withholding terms of the new deal. Again, Audiochuck denies the comlaints.

The show’s contract with Audiochuck runs out at end of year.
