YouTube to live stream both weekends of Coachella

Music festival Coachella has expanded its partnership with YouTube. This year, the April event will have both of its weekends streamed live to the video platform. YouTube will host artist vignettes and behind-the-scenes videos alongside a curated selection of the live performances.

The company has also been named the official playlist partner for the festival. It will be responsible for playlist integration on Coachella’s website and app. YouTube’s own subscribers may also get a better shot at securing tickets to see Coachella in person. YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States will have exclusive access to a set number of passes for each weekend when ticket sales open on January 4.

The 2019 edition of Coachella will be headlined by Ariana Grande (the youngest performer to do so), Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.
