vuhaus logoBoston public station WGBH has joined VuHaus, the video platform populated by a nationwwide network of public stations. WGBH joins a major-market roster of participants that includes KCRW (Los Angeles), WXPN (Philadelphia), KUTX (Austin), WFUUV (New York), and others.

WGBH will curate a Boston channel featuring local musicians called “Front Row Boston.” some of those videos will come from Boston performance venues, and others from the station’s studio.

“The production quality and caliber of artists that are featured on Front Row Boston are truly exceptional, and we’re excited to share this great content across the VuHaus Network,” said Erik Langner, VuHaus President.

“I think we’re in very good company with the VuHaus family of public radio stations,” said Bob Kempf, Vice President, WGBH Digital.

In January VuHaus obtained a renewal of its operating grant from CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting), with part of the funding intended to broaden the platform’s station participation from the nine member stations in 2015.

In May of this year, Vuhaus celebrated its one-year anniversay with a live stream of a Philadelphia concert.
