Voxnest partners with StreetLib for podcast / book publishing

In an interesting deal announced today, podcast tech/advertising company Voxnest is partnering with book distribution company StreetLib, to facilitate podcasters as book authors, and authors as podcasters.

Your first question might be “How?” as was ours, and details are not spelled out. Voxnest’s blog announcement mentions “technology integration,” which is tantalizing and we look forward to knowing more as it develops. Considering the maturing technologies of text-to-speech and speech-to-text, we wonder whether creators in each genre might eventually have a streamlined (possibly one-click) solution.

Putting aside that speculation, the stated emphasis of this collaboration is to open up a new storytelling format for creators in both categories. StreetLib is a global distributor to digital and physical book merchants (yes, including Amazon, B&N, and Apple) around the world. The service claims a reach of over 50 stores. Think of CD Baby, DistroKid, and their ilk in music, but for books (ebook and physical).

“We wanted to find a partner that could help our clients amplify their messages even more,” said Giacomo D’Angelo, CEO of StreetLib. “The partnership was a natural fit knowing that Spreaker could introduce our publishers to a brand new market, and that we do the same for their users.”

“Both companies exist to make developing content simple and straightforward for storytellers,” said Francesco Baschieri, President of Voxnest, “It’s still a really exciting time to be a content developer, because there are so few constraints. We believe this partnership will continue to open doors and increase exposure for any creator who wants to be heard.” Baschieri is speaking at RAIN Summit Canada tomorrow, Wednesday Oct. 16, in Toronto. The event include three hours of networking; tickets are still available for anyone interested in meeting Baschieri, 32 other speakers, and over 250 professional attendees.
