TuneIn brings its radio lineup to Apple Music and Siri

TuneIn announced a new partnership with Apple that will see new distribution channels for the audio company’s content. Under this arrangement, TuneIn’s more than 100,000 global radio stations will be available through the Apple Music streaming service. The stations can also be accessed by any device enabled with Apple’s Siri voice assistant. The integration between Apple and TuneIn will begin rolling out this week.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Apple and be a part of the company’s ecosystem on a global scale,” said Tony Archibong, TuneIn’s vice president of distribution and business development. “As our 75 million users around the world can attest, radio is one of the most popular categories of audio listening on connected devices, and this important partnership serves to heighten our user experience and be everywhere our listener is.”

  1. Can you please be a bit more accurate here, “TuneIn’s more than 100,000 global radio stations” – TuneIn doesn’t create content. They’re a directory of radio stations. They don’t stream radio themselves, they don’t pay royalties, they only make money on the ads they insert before other broadcasters’ streams.

(Some of us have rev share with them, but it’s inaccurate to refer to stations listed in the TuneIn directory as “their” stations.)
