Tidal launches app for Samsung TV

Tidal has launched an app for Samsung TV, a first step in an ongoing partnership between the two companies. The app offers a user experience designed for the Samsung TV screen. It will prioritize visual content from Tidal, such as music videos, interviews with popular artists, concerts, and original series unique to the streaming platform.

The press release notes that Tidal “will continue to integrate within Samsung products.” At this point in their partnership, it’s unclear how much priority Tidal will receive within the Samsung ecosystem, since the tech company inked a deal in August naming Spotify as its go-to music service provider. Samsung also unveiled its first smart speaker, the Galaxy Home, running its Bixby voice assistant in August.
