Supercast raises seed funding and hires new CEO

Podcast monetization company Supercast announced a new influx of money and new leadership. The business has received $2 million in seed funding from Table Management, Form Capital, Christian Reber (founder of Wunderlist and Pitch), Des Traynor (co-founder of Intercom), and Steli Efti (founder of Close and co-host of The Startup Chat podcast).

The other announcement is the appointment of a new chief executive. Jason Sew Hoy is joining the company as CEO and co-founder. He was most recently at 99designs, working as COO and chief growth officer.

Supercast is currently closing its beta phase. It offers podcasters membership and community tools to help them convert fans into paying subscribers to their shows. The company’s next step is to hire a remote team that will help it continue to build additional platform features.
