Streaming generates 84% of Sweden’s music revenue

Sweden flag canvasIFPI Sweden released half-year data for the nation’s music industry. The country’s music business posted an overall 4.2% increase for the first six months of 2015 for a value of 507.5 million kroner. Streaming revenue increased 7.4% to 425.8 million kroner. That sector generates 83.9% of total sales, with all digital revenue accounting for 88% of Sweden’s music sales. Physical sales dropped 32.6% for singles and 12.6% for albums.

Sweden was a top performer in the IFPI’s 2014 digital music report as well.
