Spotify hires shows/editorial leader for its German office

Spotify has hired a local music industry veteran to join its Berlin office. The streaming company hired Maik Pallasch as its head of shows and editorial in Germany. Pallasch’s most recent position was managing director for BMG’s operations in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. He has also worked at Sony/ATV Germany, and Motor Music/PolyGram Germany.

Spotify has made several noteworthy hires in the past few months. Former Pandora executive Adam Parness joined the team as its new head of global publisher licensing and Courtney Holt replaced Tom Calderone as head of studios and video. Specifically for its European operations, Spotify also brought on Zuzanna Gierlinska as the new head of programmatic and Rakesh Patel as its head of sales for the UK.
