Lee Brown is joining Spotify as the streaming service’s vice president of global sales strategy beginning next month. Brown’s previous post was as chief revenue officer for BuzzFeed. In that position, he helped to diversify ad revenue for the media company, expanding into programmatic advertising, direct-to-comsumer sales, and sponsored content. He may be applying those experiences to supporting the wide range of revenue streams at Spotify.
He is replacing Brian Benedik, who announced plans to exit the company in June. Benedik was reportedly involved in selecting Brown as his successor.
