SoundHound’s best of 2014 roundup

soundhound new app nov 2014 canvasMusic recognition and discovery app SoundHound is adding its voice to the year-end roundups. It named Pitbull as the top artist of the year. Not only did he have several popular tracks under his own name, including the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but he was also involved in several collaborations that boosted his ranking. The rest of the top five artists, in order, were David Guetta, OneRepublic, Pharrell Williams, and Ed Sheeran.

For individual tracks, John Legend’s “All of Me” hit the top of the list. Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” as remixed by The Magician took No. 2, followed by Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”

Many streaming services published year-end lists, but data fiends will most likely want to compare SoundHound’s list with the one released by industry rival Shazam.
