SoundExchange to make creations available for podcast licensing

SoundExchange announced that it is offering a new licensing solution for putting music in podcasts. The organization is collaborating with SourceAudio to create a solution for Podcastmusic.com, making the works of SoundExchange members available for podcast creators to license.

Podcastmusic.com hosts a current database of 700,000 tracks under a global license, including master use, performance, synchronization, and mechanical rights.

“The podcast industry is rapidly growing, and this collaboration will provide SoundExchange’s music creators – both labels and publishers – with an additional way to monetize their work by making their music available on Podcastmusic.com if they choose,” SoundExchange President and CEO Michael Huppe said. “Our collaboration with SourceAudio will make the process of licensing music simpler through a one-stop licensing marketplace.”
