Sirius XM reached a record-high 34.9 million paid subscribers last year

Sirius XM released its latest subscriber numbers ahead of its February earnings release and conference call. The satellite radio company announced that it total paid subscriber base has hit a record high of 34.9 million. Sirius XM added 1.063 million net self-pay subscribers at the end of 2019. The company said that it expects to exceed its 2019 financial guidance and released new expectations for 2020. Sirius XM projected that it will see total revenue of about $8.1 billion and adjusted EBITDA of about $2.5 billion.

“Last year was a milestone for SiriusXM. Not only did we achieve our tenth consecutive year of million-plus self-pay net additions, but we also completed our acquisition of Pandora Media and made significant investments in our business, all while returning more than $2 billion to our stockholders. And our new 2020 guidance points to what should be another excellent year of growth for SiriusXM,” said CEO Jim Meyer.
