Samsung is closing Milk Music for good

Music milk logo canvasSamsung announced that it is closing down the Milk Music streaming service. The platform will shutter on Sept. 22 this year. “We have made the strategic decision to invest in a partner model focused on seamlessly integrating the best music services available today into our family of Galaxy devices,” the tech company said. “We believe that working with partners will accelerate innovation, enhance device sales and provide amazing new experiences for our customers.”

Milk Music had a tumultuous life-span. The service began as a mobile-only freebie for the owners of Samsung Galaxy smartphones. It did see growth, but created some licensing issues for Samsung in its home market. Milk Music did end operations in Australia earlier this year, which may have been a sign of things to come for the brand.
