India’s music market has finalized a merger between two major players. Jio Music and Saavn have completed the union of their streaming services, creating a single entity that has a combined value of $1 billion. The joint platform is called JioSaavn. Their deal was announced in March 2018.
Users of both services will see their music-related data, including playlists and saved songs, automatically added to the new app. Users of Jio Music will receive free access to the premium version of the new service for 90 days.
The website and iOS app have already been rebranded with the new logo, although the Android app has not switched over yet.
