Rdio CEO Anthony Bay to keynote RAIN Summit West

abayborderRAIN is pleased to announce that Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio, will be the keynote speaker at RAIN Summit West on Sunday, April 12 in Las Vegas, during the NAB Show. Bay joins a roster of luminaries who have keynoted the annual conference, including Tim Westergren, Jon Irwin, Erica Farber, Dan Mason, Jason Calacanis, and Joe Kennedy.

Anthony Bay joined Rdio in December, 2013, and has guided the company’s expansion — both the business model and the service’s global reach. Rdio added an ad-supported listening plan to its subscription on-demand music platform. As an international service, Rdio plays in over 60 countries, and this week became the first multi-national music service to enter the vital and specialized Indian market.

Before Rdio, Anthony Bay held executive positions at Apple, Loudeye, Microsoft, and Apple.

“For 14 years RAIN Summits have been advancing the online audio industry by offering the best programs and hosting savvy speakers,” said Jennifer Lane, President and CEO of RAIN Enterprises. “We’re delighted that Anthony can join us this year.”

RAIN Summit West is a co-located education program of the NAB Show, and is the premiere educational and networking event for online audio. Now in its 14th year, the Summit focuses on the evolving online audio space, and is geared to both broadcasters on the Web (like Cumulus Media and CBS Radio), and Internet-only streaming services (Pandora and Spotify).

Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s RAIN Summit West on Sunday April 12th at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas, during the NAB Show. A highly accomplished digital media executive, Bay joined Rdio in 2013 with a mission to expand the company’s global footprint and listener base. Anthony came to Rdio from Amazon, where he served as head of the global video business and lead the growth of the team’s transactional video business and subscriber base. Prior to that, Anthony was chairman at Loudeye where he pioneered the global distribution, promotion, and sale of digital media content prior to the company’s acquisition by Nokia. Bay also held executive positions at Microsoft and Apple.
