iHeartRadio made good use of its mobile notification mechanism this morning, pinging registered users about a special Robin Williams takeover of the service’s “24/7 Comedy” channel. Legendary comedian and actor Williams died last night in his California home.

The special programming mixes clips from Williams’ stand-up shows and TV appearances (including Mork & Mindy bits that translate well to audio) with interview clips from comedians and other industry people reacting to the sad passing of a trailblazing comedy genius. As such, the stream is a laugh/cry mix of manic Williams riffs and thoughtful eulogies from his friends.

The station promises to keep the tribute going all day today.
