Podcast Radio lands content deal with Radio New Zealand

Podcast Radio, the UK-based all-podcast radio station, has entered a new content partnership with Radio New Zealand. Under the terms of their agreement, Podcast Radio will be able to broadcast sample episodes of seven podcasts from RNZ. The shows covered by the deal include Gone Fishing, Eating Fried Chicken In The Shower, The Lost, KillJoy, Black Sheep, The Long Way Home, and The Worst Sitcom Ever Made.

“We’re excited to sign our first content partnership with such a prestigious international broadcaster,” Podcast Radio CEO Gerry Edwards said. “I started my career in New Zealand and know what brilliant, high quality, beautifully produced programmes RNZ make. These podcasts are fantastic and we’re so proud to showcase and share them on Podcast Radio.”

“We’re thrilled some of our amazing podcasts can now be heard on the radio in the UK,” said Tim Watkin, executive producer of RNZ Podcasts and Series. “RNZ podcasts are known for pushing boundaries so we’re really impressed with what Podcast Radio is trying to do. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that showcases the best of what we do and encourages people to download the whole series and browse our other shows.”

Podcast Radio recently made its debut in the UK. It also hired Gene Baxter as a podjock for the channel.
