Podcast ad spending accelerated monthly through Q1 (Magellan AI)

Podcast ad spending peaked in March for the first quarter of this year, accelerating through the quarter on a monthly basis. This according to Magellan AI in its Q1 2021 Podcast Advertising Benchmark Report. (Free download HERE.)

The top spenders for the quarter include BetterHelp (online therapy, $9.9-million), Geico (insurance, $5.1-million) and ExpressVPN (online security, $4.2-million) — all regularly heard by avid podcast listeners. Here are the top ten advertisers for Q1, with their spends:

Magellan notes that eight of the top 10 were also top spenders in the previous quarter (Q4 2020).
