Pandora introduces Mac desktop app

Pandora has rolled out a new desktop app for Mac. This software offers a new option for Pandora users who prefer to keep their music in a standalone app rather than in one of many browser tabs. The app closely replicates the browser listening experience but with the addition of a few new features for improved usability. The new tools include keyboard controls for playback, on-screen song notifications of what’s playing, and app-based controls for the Pandora Modes feature. The update is available for listeners across all access tiers, from free to Premium.

Listeners who want to download the Mac app will need to get it from Pandora’s website. The app is not currently listed in the Mac App Store.

The company noted that it will have a new version of its Windows desktop app soon.
