One of these four services will win the RAIN Award for “Best Overall Digital Strategy”

One of the highlights of the upcoming RAIN Summit Orlando on September 17 will be the presentation of the fourth-annual RAIN Internet Radio Awards. This week, we’re revealing the semi-finalists in each of the Awards’ five categories. We began yesterday with the “Best Single Stream Webcaster” category (see it here). Today’s semi-finalists are vying for the award for “Best Overall Digital Strategy.”

Broadcasters, online-only webcasters, and aggregation services are eligible, and judges may consider mobile, streaming, websites, downloads, video and/or other features. Past winners of this award include iHeartRadio (2012), WTOP-AM/WTOP.com (2011), and CBS Radio (2010).

Congratulations to these semi-finalists. Please try out the services, and see why we felt they deserved further consideration from our judges for a RAIN Award:

  • ESPN Radio: The “Worldwide Leader in Sports” has been a leader online as well
  • iHeartRadio: Clear Channel’s platform that aggregates over 1,500 live AM/FM streams, personalized custom stations, “Perfect For” curated channels, a new talk-radio feature, mobile apps, and more
  • TuneIn: The leading online radio stream aggregator in the U.S., TuneIn offers over 70,000 AM, FM, HD and Internet radio stations and more than two million on-demand programs to more than 20 connected devices
  • ZenoRadio: Delivers radio and other audio content from all over the world to any phone in North America for free via voice networks — no smart phone or data plan needed

We’ll reveal the finalists for all five categories next week. Thanks to all the services that entered our Awards this year. We created the RAIN Internet Radio Awards to better recognize the achievements and the best practices of our industry, and have presented them at the last three RAIN Summit fall events.
