Mick Jagger launches podcast producer, lands first-look deal with Warner Bros

Podcast deals have been coming fast and furious, and the latest pairs some major names in entertainment. Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger has launched a production studio called Rainy Day Podcasts. Jagger will collaborate with Victoria Pearman, a partner in his Jagged Films enterprise; Steve Bing, a producer and founder of Shangri-La Entertainment; and Josh Olson, who wrote the movie A History of Violence.

Rainy Day Podcasts is starting off with a development deal with Warner Bros. The parties will create as many as seven narrative podcasts in this first-look deal. They already had production deals lined up with writers Zack Stentz and John Brancato and with director Allison Anders.

“Everything starts with the word. We’re very excited to be working with Warner Bros to create an environment where the best writers are free to pursue their passion projects with maximum creative freedom,” said Jagger, Pearman, Bing, and Olson in a prepared statement.

In this deal, Warner Bros Digital Networks will guide the strategic and business aspects of the partnership. Its Blue Ribbon Content digital arm will head the creative and Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution will sell the podcasts.
