Jonathan Prince exits VP post at Spotify

Jonathan Prince has departed Spotify. Prince has been in the dual posts vice president, head of marketplace and content policy and vice president, global head of communications and public policy for the streaming service since 2014. He guided the company through some difficult situations, such as the withdrawal of pop princess Taylor Swift’s catalog and the enactment of a piecemeal “hateful conduct” policy. He is leaving for a post at Slack.

Spotify has lost a large number of high-profile leaders in the past year and a half. The lead-up to its direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange and the months following have seen several notable or long-time names opting to exit. The departures include former Chief Content Officer Stefan Blom, Head of Creator Services Troy Carter, and former Global Head of Artist and Industry Partnerships Mark Williamson.
