iHeartRadio adds Grupo ACIR stations and takes over digital ad repping

iheartradio logoClear Channel announced today that iHeartRadio is adding the 55 Mexican radio stations of Grupo ACIR to the streaming platform. The cluster will be folded into the iHeartRadio Hispanic Network. The emphasis is on U.S. exposure to the Mexico-based programming.

Grupo ACIR station brands target genre categories: Amor for Spanish love songs, Mix for decade-spanning hits, Felicidad playing oldies, and others.

As part of the distribution deal, Clear Channel will take over as digital sales provider. Here again, the thrust is toward U.S. consumers: “…replacing all local Mexican station ads with consumer-targeted U.S. ads.  Serving Hispanics across the U.S., the iHeartRadio Hispanic Network includes a unique collection of assets providing advertising partners large-scale reach to nearly 93 percent of the U.S. Spanish and English-speaking Hispanic population.”

Antonio Ibarra, GM of ACIR, said, “We are very happy that our stations will be available on the iHeartRadio platform and that we can reach the growing Hispanic community in the U.S.”
