Google Podcasts and PRX announced plans for a second round of their podcast creator program. The pair introduced their plans to launch an accelerator project for aspiring creators in October. They introduced the second wave with insights from the first round participants. Catalina May and Martin Cruz of Las Raras podcast penned a blog post about the power of podcasting for Google, while PRX offered suggestions for how to make the strongest possible application.
The program is currently selecting applicants for round two, with submissions due by April 14. Participants who are selected will receive months of training, mentorship, and up to $40K in seed funding through the accelerator program. The initial round culled thousands of applications down to six teams, but the companies have not said how large the accelerator’s second group will be.
