Google’s next smart home product appears to be a hub device. The new hardware will be called the Nest Hub Max, a smart display with a Nest camera and a 10-inch screen. The upcoming launch was leaked by accident in an update to the website for its Google Store. Any mentions of the Nest Hub Max have now been removed.
This leaked product would be a follow-up to the Google Home Hub, which debuted in October 2018 and was the first smart speaker to have a display screen for Google. The Nest Hub Max is larger and adds a camera to that original Hub design.
The Google Home product family is growing in familiarity among U.S. consumers. Awareness of Google Home reached 56% in the latest Infinite Dial survey. The Google Home Mini is one of the more successful smart home products.
