ESPN Podcasts posts record-breaking monthly downloads in October

ESPN Podcasts announced another record-breaking month. The network’s audio shows reported 43.6 million downloads in October, a new high after September’s previous record of 39.3 million downloads. Eleven of its shows commanded more than a million downloads each.

That performance brings ESPN Podcasts to 344.9 million downloads to date in 2018. That’s already more downloads that its programming had in all of 2017.

“ESPN Podcasts continues to set new highs,” said Tom Ricks, vice president of digital strategy and marketing. “This kind of growth in a year comes from new story telling with the 30 for 30 series, the addition of compelling new personalities and from signature voices and shows. We’re excited for where ESPN’s podcast business is going.”
