Deezer launches limited rollout for radio mobile app

Deezer has launched a new dedicated mobile app for radio listening. Radio By Deezer offers access to 30,000 stations covering music, live sports, news, and talk. The app is free to download, does not require a subscription, and plays no additional advertisements. However, the initial rollout is limited to Android devices and to the UK market. Deezer expects the app to have a gradual roll-out to Europe and will have an iOS version available soon.

Inside the Radio By Deezer app, listeners can like individual songs from the stations’ programming to add to their Favorite Tracks library. That collection is automatically added to the listener’s My Music tab of the Deezer music service to be heard again on-demand.

“Radio fans deserve an experience tailored to their exact needs,” said Olivier Miljeu, product manager of Radio By Deezer. “Our easy to use app provides fast access to their favourite stations, all with an undisturbed, ad-free, listening experience. Gone are the days of thinking it’s too late to get the song you just heard on the radio, and now with just a quick tap you can add it straight to your library!”
