“I am honored to join the SoundExchange board where I can leverage my experience as a performing artist and fight on behalf of all creators for fairness and the long-term value of music,” Byrne said.

SoundExchange also added two new members to its executive ranks in February. The company announced record royalty payouts in 2014, with $773 million distributed to recording artists and labels during the year.
