Dash Radio launches pop-up station for BIG3 basketball league

Dash Radio has launched a live pop-up station in collaboration with BIG3, a 3-on-3 professional basketball league founded by rap icon Ice Cube. The BIG3 Radio channel will broadcast live for the final week of the league leading into its final game in Las Vegas. Programming for the pop-up station will include player music choices, curated playlists, player interviews, highlights, and the weekly media conference with Ice Cube.

“Basketball and Hip Hop have gone together since the latter’s inception, the culture of one moves into the other. When we were building this league – this experience, the soundtrack was just as important as the venue… We couldn’t just bring in a DJ and put him in a corner,” Ice Cube said about the role of music in the league.

“If you’ve seen the BIG3, you know the music that’s playing brings so much more to the table than just background noise,” said DJ Skee, founder of Dash Radio. “It’s electric. It fuels the crowd, it fuels the players — the right song could set off an entire arena. That’s what we’re looking to capture with BIG3 Radio.”
