Curiouscast, Corus Entertainment’s pod network, announces fall slate

Curiouscast, the podcast network owned and operated by Canada’s Corus Entertainment, has released its fall schedule of new and returning shows. The lineup features three investigative podcasts including the award-winning Crime Beat (Season 3), and new shows 13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre and Whatever Happened To.

Four shows are featured in today’s press release:

The Super Awesome Science Show: The Science of Covid – Launched Sept. — Returning for Season 2, Jason Tetro explores the science behind Pandemics with the help of some of the brightest minds in science today. From vaccines to a potential second Wave of COVID-19, this podcast covers pandemics from every angle in a way that we can all understand. New episodes weekly.

Crime Beat (Season 3) – Launching Oct. 20 — Veteran Global News Crime Reporter Nancy Hixt embarks on Crime Beat’s third season as a podcast and its upcoming second season as a TV adaptation. Join Nancy as she shines light in dark places and gives a voice to the voiceless on this award-winning true crime podcast. Crime Beat is a 2020 Edward R Murrow International Podcast Winner and is nominated for a 2020 People Choice Podcast Award. New podcast episodes bi-weekly.

13 Hours: Inside the Nova Scotia Massacre – Launching Nov 9 — Canada’s worst massacre in modern history has left us with far more questions than answers. Journey inside every hour of this tragedy as it happened with Global Halifax reporter Sarah Ritchie. This 13-part series looks to piece together exactly what happened and what could have been done to prevent it. New episodes bi-weekly.

Whatever Happened To – Launching Nov 19 — Just because a story falls out of the news cycle doesn’t mean it’s gone. On Whatever Happened To Global News reporter Erica Vella dives deep into the stories that gripped the world’s attention to uncover just what’s happened since. Episodes include: Fukushima, The Chilean Miners, Zika Virus, The Ice Bucket Challenge, Lac Megantic, and more. New podcast episodes bi-weekly.

The Curiouscast network lists a dozen podcasts on its website, including what is arguably its most famous show, The Ongoing History of New Music, produced and hosted by Alan Cross.

Curiouscast was founded in 2018. Corus Entertainment is a cross-category media company owning 39 radio stations and 15 TV stations in addition to digital audio and technology assets.
