Beasley working with SonicAi for Alexa skills

Beasley Media Group has partnered with SonicAi for the creation of Amazon Echo voice skills for the entire broadcast company. Beasley has 63 radio stations, and the new Alexa voice skills will make those channels easier to access on-demand from Amazon’s smart speaker and will highlight specific station features.

SonicAi is a joint effort between Amplifi Media and Jacobs Media’s mobile developer jācapps. The duo launched SonicAi in April of this year.

“Alexa and the Echo device have taken off quickly, providing a huge opportunity for radio to get back into the audience’s home listening environment,” Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs said. “Our latest Tech survey shows that 11% of those surveyed already have an Amazon Echo or another smart speaker device in their home – and it’s growing.”

“Our focus is audience retention and creating more listening occasions,” added Amplifi’s Steve Goldstein.
