audioBoom ending free tier for podcasters

audioBoom has updated its subscription approach and eliminated the free option for its members. Beginning October 2, all podcasters will be charged $9.99 for use of the service. The company cited growth in the podcasting industry as the reason that it needs to offset the costs of maintenance and other services.

Podcasters on the plan can publish up to five episodes per month and host up to 10,000 plays per month per episode. The RSS feed can distribute shows to Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, and TuneIn.

In addition, audioBoom is updating its terms of service. The website has a comparison between the new and old versions. The new terms will take effect on August 30, 2017.

audioBoom recently announced a second wave of original audio content programming.
