Apple Music updates Android version

Apple Music screencap canvasApple Music announced an update to its mobile service on Android. The app will now support video content and family memberships. The service has thousands of videos, including some exclusives such as the video for Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour. It’s also making investments in creating some music content of its own, such as the viral hit “Hotline Bling” by Drake.

These changes bring the Android version closer in line with what the app has on iOS. Android does have some other features that stand out from the iOS version. It added options for offline listening by saving music to the phone’s SD card and a home screen widget for controlling playback.

Apple Music has been playing catchup on the other mobile platform from the beginning. It entered beta for Android in November last year after the full service had gone live at the very end of June.
