Apple Music has entered a partnership with the Sunderland AFC, a UK football club. (That’s soccer team to our fellow Americans.) As the exclusive streaming music partner for Sunderland, fans will be able to listen to player-curated playlists within the music platform and on the team’s website. Supporters of the Sunderland club will also get a three-month free trial of Apple Music to check out the whole platform as well as the exclusive playlists. The streaming service will also have a dedicated playlist of all the tracks to be played at the stadium on match day.
“It’s fantastic for us to be partnering with such an iconic, global brand and we are delighted to welcome Apple Music to our Sunderland family,” said Tony Davison, Sunderland AFC’s managing director. “Music is such an integral part of the whole match day experience and now our supporters will be able to download both our matchday playlists and tracks chosen specially by the players, so they can feel part of it, even if they aren’t at the game.”
