Apple Music news: A PR hire and Android Auto support

Today features a duo of updates for Apple Music. First, the streaming service has hired Briean Bumbery as its director of publicity. Bumbery founded BB Gun Press firm in 2011 and has worked with high-profile music clients including Metallica, Green Day, Chris Cornell and Madonna during his career as a public relations strategist. He assumes the new role as Jimmy Iovine, one of the central architects of Apple Music’s launch out of Beats Music, shifts into a consulting position for the company.

There’s also a noteworthy beta test in the works for the latest version of Apple Music. The company is testing an integration with Android Auto. Apple has never offered support for the car infotainment dashboard from the Google/Alphabet tech giant. So far, there are no details available about when this integration might have an official launch, or if other connections between Apple and Android platforms are also in the works.
