AdsWizz launches new PodScribe tool for contextual ad targeting in podcasts

AdsWizz, a specialist in digital audio advertising technology, announced a new feature called PodScribe that offers scalable, contextual ad targeting in podcasts. PodScribe is built on advanced speech-to-text transcription technology, which lets advertisers target by the keywords, concepts, topics, and interests that appear in a show or episode.

AdsWizz is also offering assurances in brand safety thanks to an agreement with Comscore. PodScribe uses the Comscore Activation solution suite to ensure that spots are placed alongside relevant and brand-safe podcast content.

“The podcast industry can only truly take off if ad buying is easy and accessible,” said AdsWizz CEO Alexis Van de Wyer. “In order to fully scale, podcast advertising needs to evolve the way programmatic buyers look at digital audio as a whole. Solutions like PodScribe and our relationships with major podcast publishers all over the world will enable the industry to grow in a way that is safe for advertisers.” He added that even host-read ads could be subject to dynamic ad-insertion and programmatic buying in the future, ideally without any sacrifice in listener experience or show quality.

PodScribe will be integrated into multiple services under the AdsWizz umbrella. The feature can be leveraged by clients using the AdsWizz AudioMatic platform to better reach their desired audiences. It will also be a part of the PodWave podcast marketplace and AudioServe platform for managing ad campaigns.

The feature launches today after more than a year of private beta testing. It is available in multiple languages with select publishers and advertisers.
