Acast launching free podcast workshops in the U.S. for under-represented communities

Acast is bringing its Aclass podcast education series to the United States for the first time. The series of free workshops is designed to reach communities and populations that are currently under-represented in the podcasting field.

The first U.S. session is titled Aclass: Black and is aimed at reaching current and aspiring black podcast talent. Toure from Toure Show, Noleca Radway from Raising Rebels, and Queen & J. from Tea with Queen & J. will participate on the event’s expert panels. The session will be held at Acast’s New York office.

“Podcasting has this amazing ability to amplify different voices and experiences, but voices from certain communities are still underrepresented in audio,” said Brian Danzis, managing director of the Americas for Acast. “Our goal with Aclass is to provide a space for learning and discussion, and to support a diversity of perspectives.”

“It’s inspiring to see how podcasting has been harnessed by so many different creators to share their ideas and experiences with the world,” said Veronika Taylor, Acast’s director of U.S. content. “We hope Aclass will help creators of different backgrounds, identities, and perspectives in their journey.”
