Acast adds 31,000-show catalog to Podchaser for social discovery

Social podcast discovery platform Podchaser will ingest the entire catalog 31,000 podcasts from global podcast platform and marketplace Acast. Podchaser is sometimes called the IMDB of podcasts, and provides rating and reviews, creator and guest credits, user-curated playlists, and other social sharing and discovery features.

Acast podcasters will presumably benefit from this integration, and could see another source of listener reviews — Apple is the best known review platform, but Podchaser is undoubtedly more important to its frequent users.

Stacey Goers, Product Manager at Acast, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to help our podcasters grow their audience, and having Acast podcasts properly represented within Podchaser means even more visibility and exposure for those creators. Podchaser also gives creators the opportunity to engage with fans outside of podcast listening apps, further supporting the open ecosystem while helping podcasters build deeper connections.”

Bradley Davis, CEO at Podchaser, said: “At Podchaser, we believe in giving podcasters the tools they need to grow their show and connect with listeners. Through this partnership, Acast-hosted podcasts can easily receive and reply to reviews, add credits, add custom categories, create lists, and more, to boost their organic discoverability.”

There is a claiming process for podcasters to take public ownership of their shows on Podchaser. The process starts HERE.
