Will they or won’t they? After filing a suit against iHeartMedia last week in Illinois only to dismiss it three days later, ABS Entertainment has reopened the case. The company, which represents Arthur and Barbara Sheridan, is seeking royalties for songs recorded prior to 1972.
When the duo dismissed their initial Illinois charges against iHeart, they didn’t give a reason for reversing the action. That allowed them to reopen the case if they wished. That said, it’s unclear why they have chosen to flip-flop on the issue in this particular litigation.
The Sheridans have been pushing for legal action over the several master recordings the couple owns. This week they filed a pair of suits in New Jersey this week, one against iHeart and the other against Sirius XM and Pandora. They’ve also got suits against iHeartMedia underway in California and Georgia. Pandora and Sirius XM are also under legal fire from ABS in New York court.
