YouTube has extended the beta trial for its Music Key subscription service through Sept. 15. According to the emails sent to current beta testers, the extension is a thank you for the helpful feedback received during the first six months of testing. YouTube did not comment on the testers’ response to the service thus far.
We dove into the Music Key beta when it first launched in November. The jury is still out on whether there’s enough that makes YouTube’s service unique to justify the paid tier price tag. The full service was projected to have its official launch some time this year, but we may have to wait until fall to see the final results.
