Vevo names Jon Gisby as Head of Europe

jon-gisby-canvasVevo has hired Jon Gisby its new Head of Europe. He joins the company after working on the BBC’s digital strategy and running content and services at UK ISP Freeserve. In this new role, he will be responsible for delivering Vevo’s plans for content, technology, and monetization in that market.

Jon Gisby has been a forward-looking executive during a career with many parts. “I build digital businesses that matter,” he says. Gisby has held board and mentorship positions with several organizations including the British Screen Advisory Council. He was Executive Vice President of Magine, a “brilliantly disruptive” internet TV service. He was Director of Future Media and Technology at Channel 4, a publicly owned, commercially funded public service broadcaster. In the late-1990s Gisby was Senior Adviser, Corporate Strategy at the BBC, where he managed investment in digital services and platforms.
