Damian Marley, son of legend Bob Marley, is the latest member of Tidal’s artist-owner roster. The addition was announced at the Tidal X 10:20 Festival charity concert hosted by the streaming service in New York.
Tidal was most recently in the headlines following rumors that tech giant Samsung might be considering a purchase of the company, which specializes in hi-resolution audio quality. The company has seen a wave of questionable press, and the involvement of its artist-owners in charity events such as last night’s concert has been a bright spot since hip-hop artist/businessman Jay-Z assumed ownership. But even the concert wasn’t without its drama, as headliner Prince never showed up for his set.
