Spotify has hired a new leader for its public relations team. Dustee Jenkins will be the streaming service’s top communications official, joining Spotify from the same role at retailer Target. Before that, she worked at Hill & Knowlton, and ran communications for the Department of Housing and Urban Development under President George W. Bush.
Prior to bringing on Jenkins, Spotify’s PR efforts have been somewhat separated by geography, with different communications experts in different regional offices. Now each of the regional leaders will report to her. Creating a more unified voice for the business should be of high importance as Spotify prepares to navigate a less traditional path to a public listing. The company is rumored to be readying a direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange, but there has been no confirmation of that action or of a timeline.
