siriusxm logoFurther leveraging in-car listening as its primary customer acquisition funnel, SiriusXM will begin offering three-month trial subscriptions to used-car buyers. Naturally, the offer applies in cars equipped with a SiriusXM receiver. The initiative is enabled by AutoManager, a dealership solution provider.

According to a recent earnings report, SiriusXM converts 45% of trial listeners to paid subscribers. The satellite service is entrenched in cars; most new models have factory-installed satellite.

AutoManager is managing the SiriusXM Pre-Owned Program as part of its webmanager product used by 4,600 dealerships. The dealership must enroll in the SiriusXM Pre-Owned Program through AutoManager. Doing so enable the dealer to demonstrate SiriusXM during test drives, and to start the three-month trial upon purchase. Sirius stock (SIRI) is up 1.25% on the news.
