Rhapsody’s 2015 net losses increase 66%

Rhapsody parent company RealNetworks released its financial information for 2015, including the performance for the streaming service. Rhapsody’s revenue for 2015 rose 16.4% to $201.99 million. It also posted a loss of $35.48 million, up from a loss of just $21.34 million in 2014.Rhapsody 2015 financials

Billboard made some calculations about financial performance per subscriber. Assuming 3 million of them, each subscriber represented revenue of $67.33 and a loss of $11.83.

Rhapsody CFO Ethan Rudin did not comment on the results, but said the company has “never been more excited or optimistic about a category that we helped define in early 2001.”
